while newt's confessional to dobson* is a delicious bit of poetic irony, i think newt is right to point out that his affair does not demonstrate blatant hypocrisy, since clinton did technically commit perjury (yes, in a civil suit, and yes, for a blowjob). but unless newt did some serious moralistic grandstanding during the lewinsky scandal, i don't think he deserves the "hypocrite" label.

of course, the walter reed incident is without question. one could have a field day with the hypocrisy of yellow-ribbon, question-the-POTUS-and-your-a-traitor republicans, but the whole thing just makes me want to cry.

*i love how dobson has taken on pope-like powers of absolution for the christian right, despite the fact that he's not even an ordained minister. (he's a child psychologist, and one who endorses hitting your kids at that.)

if you want a true hypocrite from the lewinsky era, check out bob barr, the fucktwit who led the moral charge against clinton but who had once perjured himself over whether he approved of his first wife's abortion (he said no, yet he drove his wife to the clinic and paid for the baby-killing himself...and yes, of course he's pro-life.)
